Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) has recently announced the launch of its Teacher Ambassadors program, aimed at empowering educators to bring computer science education to their classrooms and inspire the next generation of tech leaders.

The AFE Teacher Ambassadors program is a comprehensive professional development program that offers teachers the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills in computer science education. The program is designed to train educators in computer science pedagogy, equipping them with the tools to teach computer science to students from underserved and underrepresented communities.

The program is open to all K-12 teachers in the United States, and it offers a range of benefits. Teacher Ambassadors will receive a $5,000 ($2,500 teacher year) stipend, access to a professional learning community, and the opportunity to attend Amazon-sponsored professional development events. They will also receive support from Amazon’s team of curriculum developers, who will provide guidance on integrating computer science concepts into existing lesson plans.

One of the key benefits of the AFE Teacher Ambassadors program is its focus on equity and inclusion. Amazon recognizes that computer science education is critical for future success in the workforce, and the company is committed to ensuring that all students have access to this important subject. The program is designed to support teachers in bringing computer science education to underrepresented and underserved communities, including students from low-income backgrounds, girls, and students of color.

The AFE Teacher Ambassadors program is part of Amazon’s broader commitment to promoting computer science education. The company has invested over $100 million in AFE, which provides free computer science courses, tutorials, and teacher professional development to students and educators across the United States. AFE has reached over 10 million students in more than 5,000 schools, and the program continues to grow.

By launching the AFE Teacher Ambassadors program, Amazon is empowering educators to take a leadership role in advancing computer science education. Through this program, teachers will gain the skills and knowledge they need to inspire the next generation of tech leaders, creating a brighter future for all.

The Amazon Future Engineer Teacher Ambassadors program is a significant step towards promoting computer science education in underserved and underrepresented communities. The program offers a range of benefits for teachers, including a stipend, access to a professional learning community, and support from Amazon’s team of curriculum developers. By empowering educators, Amazon is helping to create a more equitable and inclusive future for all students.
