Unfortunately, computer science is marginalized throughout education and despite there being close to 30,000 open computing jobs, in Florida there were only 3,357 graduates in computer science in 2018 and only 33% of all public high schools teach a foundational course.
Launched in 2017, Miami EdTech is a 501(c)(3) working to close the digital skills gap & significantly improve economic and workforce opportunities for historically underrepresented students through digital literacy training, computer science support and advocacy, and industry-informed workforce programming.
