We partnered with Teach For America – Miami Dade to create the S.I.E.L (Social Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership) Incubator to reach more classrooms and share innovative EdTech solutions to reach students who face inequities.

Our incubator focuses on combining the best practices of launching and scaling a startup business through the critical lens of educational principles and frameworks.

Our first cohort launched on July 10th, 2018 with ten TFA – Miami Dade educators looking to develop and deploy effective solutions for issues in education. These solutions ranged from social and emotional learning tools  to providing healthy and nutritious meal options for students who attend under served schools. This program is open to ALL educators.

The next cohort launches on June 25th, 2019 and lasts six weeks with the Pitch Night celebration occurring on August 1st. The sessions meet Tuesday’s in person and Thursday’s online.

The program includes an online curriculum and virtual experience covering the following areas:

  • Design Thinking – design solutions to complex problems using research backed techniques.
  • User Testing – learn directly from your intended users and customers.
  • Scaling Lean – grow and expand your impact with little to no capital.
  • Pitch Coaching – develop a compelling business pitch to present to stakeholders and/or investors.

When does the next cohort start?

The next cohort – Cohort 2 – begins on Tuesday, June 25th 2019 and will meet in-person on Tuesday’s from 6-9pm and online on Thursday’s from 6-8pm.

How long does the program last?

The program goes from June 25th thru August 1st and ends in a Pitch Night at CIC Miami.

Do participants earn a stipend?

Each participant in the cohort will receive a $150 stipend to support materials and expenses.
