Our team recently had the privilege of hosting 11 enthusiastic students from Miami Beach Senior High School for the Groundhog Job Shadow Day, hosted by the M-DCPS Career and Technical Education Department. It was an incredible experience for the students as they learned more about us as a company and also had the chance to immerse themselves in our day-to-day work. These students are part of the recently launched pre-apprenticeship program in AI that was created as part of our Registered Apprenticeship Program in AI and UX/UI.
The day started with an introduction to our team, followed by a tour of The LAB and a cup of coffee! Students interacted with our teammates, gaining insights into the daily workings and their roles here. They got to hear from our Founder, Program Manager, People and Operations as well as our Software Development intern!
Our team members shared their career journeys, offering the students a glimpse into the diverse paths one can take as they enter into the tech industry.
One of the highlights was a hands-on workshop where students learned about one of our most recent partnerships with Riders.ai and then had a chance to dive into our recently developed Introduction to AI coursework through the GoSprout platform, as all the students also happened to be a part of the recently launched AI pre-apprenticeship program. They had an opportunity to learn about the foundations of AI, its importance, and the future of AI.
As the day drew to a close, feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive. As we had an opportunity to share our work, projects, experiences, highs and lows with them. We ended the day with an amazing picture to signify such a powerful moment!
