Miami EdTech is proud to be one of 13 South Dade nonprofits selected to receive an investment from Amazon. Our $75,000 award is part of Amazon’s $1 million commitment to 13 South Dade nonprofits, a broader effort to strengthen local organizations and expand opportunity across the region.
The commitment was announced alongside The Miami Foundation’s release of the South Dade Community Needs and Nonprofit Funding Landscape report. The report looked at how nonprofit funding is reaching communities throughout South Dade. It found that local nonprofits are strong but often lack flexible funding, and it called for more sustained, locally focused investment in areas like economic mobility and long-term community capacity. Amazon’s commitment is an important step toward helping locally rooted organizations grow their programs and services and create opportunities for the people they serve.
For Miami EdTech, this support will help us expand access to meaningful technology education, career-connected learning, and pathways into high-growth careers for young people and adults throughout Miami-Dade County. It strengthens the work we already do to help learners build relevant digital skills, gain real-world experience, and see the opportunities open to them in today’s technology-driven economy. It also helps us keep giving educators the tools and training they need to bring emerging technologies into the classroom.
More than funding for a single program, this is an investment in our students, our educators, our workforce, and the communities shaping South Dade’s future.
We are deeply grateful to Amazon and The Miami Foundation for their continued commitment to South Dade and for recognizing the important role nonprofits play in strengthening communities.
With this support, Miami EdTech will keep connecting learners, educators, employers, and community partners so more people in South Dade can gain the skills, resources, and connections they need to step into the careers ahead. The future of South Dade is worth investing in, and we are proud to help our community prepare for what comes next.
