In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, fostering the next generation of innovators is crucial. Recently, we took a bold step by spearheading a Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAPs) in Artificial Intelligence. The time is now to increase the number of RAPs as the talent crisis continues to persist and will continue to do so unless we make dramatic changes at the systemic level. Another opportunity we had recently was to support the Career and Technical Education Department (CTE) at M-DCPS with the launch of their inaugural AI Hackathon during the annual Innov@te-CTEC Challenge. This event not only showcased the talents of young minds but also marked the launch of a pre-apprenticeship program in AI at 3 M-DCPS high schools.
Let’s take a closer look at this transformative day and explore the promising future of pre-apprenticeship programs in the workforce.
